Frequently asked questions

What if I was already a member of the gym?

If you were already a member at the gym, you will be able to continue accessing the gym with your old membership plan until it expires. At that time, you'll then need to purchase one of the new plans.

What are the gym hours?

Until further notice, the hours are: 8am to 7pm Monday through Friday 9am to 12pm Saturday and Sunday At some point in the near future, the gym will be open 24/7 with staff available 8-5 Monday through Friday for membership purchases and questions/support.

Are the tennis courts and track open year-round?

At this time the tennis courts and track are not open during the winter due to the significant amount of snow that usually accumulates. Also, BRRR!!

Is any of the equipment being updated?

Yes! We are in the process of replacing many of the old machines with brand new, state-of-the-art equipment.

Will there be exercise classes?

In the future we hope to add some fitness classes, yes! If you have any suggestions for specific classes or instructors, please send us a message through the "contact us" page. We are also proud to offer Fitness on Demand classes in the room to the right of the cardio equipment. You can learn more about the software here: www.fitnessondemand247.com. Members will be able to stream live classes or replay recorded classes anytime day or night. Class offerings include yoga, barre, spin, HIIT, and many others. We plan to get some spinning bikes in the room, as well.

Why have the prices gone up?

The gym is 20+ years old and is going to require some significant work to keep the place going. Additionally, a lot of the equipement is outdated, so we are bringing in some new, state-of-the art equipment including treadmills, spinning bikes, and much more. We understand how important this facility is to the local community, and we are thrilled to be able to keep the gym open. However, for this to be possible, we needed to raise the membership rates. Rest assured we are trying to keep the rates as low as possible, while still covering the expenses necessary to stay open.

Can I play pickleball?

Yes! There are frequent games of pickleball at the Point Lookout Recreation Center. Please contact us for more information about getting involved.
